Page 2 of 9 One day, in 1994, I was on my way home from doing grocery shopping. It was a sunny and clear afternoon. I travelled the highway which went by our home, and was almost there when I suddenly hit traffic. This had never happened before in the last two years we'd lived there, like I said, this road was not a busy one. But there were at least ten cars in front of me, each at a dead stop. As I did the same, I noticed sunlight bouncing off of something in the sky. Above and ahead of me there was a disk shaped object, I could see it quite clearly, even the metal it was made of- which resembled polished aluminum. It seemed to be completely immobile on the sky, and I tried to figure out what it could be. As « flying saucers » had never been of any interest to me, that was not my first thought! I racked my brain trying to remember what different kind new military aircraft existed, that might resemble what I was seeing (especially since this area was constantly used for military exercises, we had jets and helicopters over the house everyday) , I thought I might be seeing one from behind. As the time passed, though, it became obvious that this thing was not moving away at all. I still kept searching my mind for a military aircraft that was capable of such a feat, besides a helicopter, which it obviously was not. Besides, even a helicopter can't sit that still! I'm not sure how much time passed, my memory feels fuzzy there, a sort of feeling I've experienced many times since, which leeds me to suspect a possible abduction took place then. At any rate, the disc did begin to move at some point, and wiped away all my hopes of finding a rational explanation. It went up and down, tilted one way and the other, in precise, jerky movements; then suddenly flew off over the mountains at a speed that caused me to loose my breath! I knew at that moment that what I had just witnessed was not of this world at all. Since then I have continued to study the flight of all man-made aircraft, even birds, anything in the sky, and have not yet found anything capable of manouvers like I saw that day. When the thing left, it went at an extremely high speed, and most importantly , did not start at a lower speed and accelerate! If there had been humans inside that thing at that moment, they would have been puréed! As soon as it was gone, all the cars then began to move. I felt calm and happy, and just returned home. While unpacking groceries with my husband, I off handedly mentioned that I'd seen something that seemed to be an U.F.O., quickly recounted what happened, then just forgot about the incident entirely. It wasn't until much later, more than a year, when other things began to happen that I realized the absurdness of my reaction at that time. If, before that incident, someone handed me that situation hypothetically and asked how I would react, the answer would have been simple: I would get out, run to the car ahead of me and ask them if they saw the same thing as I, taken down some names and phone numbers, then reported the whole thing to the closest gendarmerie. I would have expected to feel a little more perturbed by seeing something that I had always believed did not exist! And why where those cars stopped anyway? Did they stop to observe it too? Many years later I found a book on this subject, and read that sometimes in the presence of these kind of U.F.O.s, car engines stall. I don't remember if that was the case for my car, but I wonder.... For a few weeks after my eyes burned and watered, and I began to have blurred vision when looking at things as far as across my living room. It was then also that I began to have migraines, which we eventually learned were caused by sinus problems. I still did not link any of this to what had transpired that spring day.
